CSX Corporation awards Carolina Youth Development Center with $10,000 grant

Carolina Youth Development Center (CYDC) has been awarded a $10,000 from international transportation company CSX Corporation, and the funds are sure to go to good use.

Specifically, the grant will help to fund a six-week Summer Biz Camp that takes place from June 20th through August 5th at CYDC's North Charleston campus.

Camp participants are young people living in shelters and group homes, specifically those students who need academic support and assistance. The camp program will be led by an experienced staff including a certified teacher. Special focus will be placed on reading, matt, life transition, and career skills.

For more information about the camp and CYDC, visit http://www.cydc.org or call (843) 266-5200.

And, if you remember, this is the second time in as many weeks that we've reported on a local organization receiving a grant (the first was WINGS for kids).
