The city of North Myrtle Beach is being investigated by the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) for allegations of improperly dumping the insecticide Malathion.

Malathion is the chemical used in city trucks that spray for mosquitoes during the summer months. Allegedly the dumping took place near the North Myrtle Beach Aquatic and Fitness Center, around where the city stores street signs and other signage.

Pat Dowling, the city of North Myrtle Beach's spokesmen, says that no one is aware of any insecticide dumping. To get the full story, including other allegations the annynomous tipster sent to DHEC, head on over to The Sun News
