The Grand Strand Humane Society is taking an approach to fundraising that allows the masses to participate without too much pain.  They're attempting to raise $5000, one dollar at a time. 

Between now and December 31, 2011, they are asking that anyone interested in saving and adopting out animals to loving homes around the Grand Strand to donate one dollar to their operation.  They are currently providing food, shelter, and medical care to 300 animals.
