Forbes Magazine complied a list of the smartest cities in the world and Charleston has claimed the No. 8 spot.

The list was made by examining a city's infrastructure and livability, as well as its economic fundamentals. As you can imagine, Boeing's recent decision to open a 787 assembly plant in North Charleston had a lot to do with the Forbes pick.
