Technology improves life in many ways, and the biggest way is its cost effectiveness and that is why North Myrtle Beach has started hearing cases via a webcam. North Myrtle Beach is leading the way,  becoming the first in Horry County to use this technology. The system cost North Myrtle Beach $7,500, but is expected to pay for itself in six months according to public information officer Pat Dowling. This setup saves 4-6 hours a day in commute, transportation and officers and court personel time.
