Of course the desks are empty now, it's summer. Duh!

A few Horry County Schools have won some great awards recently.

On July 20 St. James High School will be awarded the national Outstanding High Schools That Work award. Competing against 19 schools nationally St. James pulled out ahead of the pack. High Schools that work is the nations "largest school improvement initiative for high school leaders and teachers." Hop on over to SCnow.com to read all about the Outstanding High Schools That Work initiative, including what some of the criteria is to be an award winning school

Two other local schools, Burgess Elementary and Ocean Bay Middle were recognized by the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC). The two schools were the first to be featured in DHEC's new Take Action Today program. The schools won environmental awards for recycling, reduction and reuse. Again, hop on over to SCnow to check out the impressive programs that Burgess Elementary and Ocean Bay Middle implemented

TheDigitel would like to congratulate all the schools mentioned above and thank all the students and teachers for their hard work!
