Weapons Station welcomes new boss

Capt. Glen M. Little Jr. is now the commanding officer at Naval Weapons Station Charleston in Berkeley County. The NWS Charleston Web site has a write-up on the changeover, as does the Charleston Regional Business Journal. Little replaces Capt. Robert J. Brennan, who is leaving for the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.

From NWS Charleston:

Captain Glen M. Little, Jr. assumed command of Naval Weapons Station Charleston during a Change of Command ceremony at 1 p.m. today at the Redbank Club on Station.

Captain Little relieved Captain Robert J. Brennan, who assumed command of the Weapons Station in August 2006. CAPT Brennan's next assignment is as Director of Division of Math and Science at the U.S. Naval Academy.

Captain Little enlisted in the Navy in 1972 and advanced up through the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. He received his commission as a Limited Duty Officer in Sept. 1985. His first assignment as a commissioned Officer was onboard USS CARL VINSON (CVN-70).

The press release tells more on Little's background and so on, if you'd like to get to know him a bit better. There's also his bio page at NWS Charleston.

From the Business Journal:

“I will lead the dedicated men and women of Naval Weapons Station Charleston with a sense of pride and commitment beyond words,” Little said at the ceremony at the Redbank Club.
