Image by charleston.net.jpg This screen replaced The Post and Courier's usual homepage on Saturday, but the site is actually OK.
Looks like it's been a rough day for the crew over at www.postandcourier.com. The site has been unavailable to standard browsing since before 6 a.m. Saturday, and the difficulties continue this afternoon.
Employees posted this note on the site, even though many casual users would be unable to view it:
We experienced technical difficulties this morning and early afternoon which may have affected some users. If you have concerns or questions, please e-mail webmaster@postandcourier.com.
We did that a little after 4 p.m. and got word that the original problem was a DNS issue, and that the staff was waiting for the fix to propagate through the Web.
Meanwhile, Ken Hawkins found a way to evade the generic splash screen and get to Postandcourier.com. His hack? Turn off your browser's Javascript functions. Works for us.
