College of Charleston given hint to get more black students, more diverse

First off, I suspect not too many of us would be shocked if told that the College of Charleston isn't the most diverse of schools, still it's interesting that the school took a bit of heat at a recent meeting for having few black students and faculty.

In fall 2008 they had 5.7% which is down for four years running from 7.9%.

The Post and Courier has the story on the meeting, and Live 5 News has a video.

For comparison, at Clemson only 3.8% of students are black and at USC 10.8% are (down from 14.6% in 2004.)
