What you give up when you get something in politics

Image by Flickr user Mr Dodgy It's a perfect world ... if you just make this choice?

Greg Hambrick over at the Charleston City Paper has put together a set of poignant reminders on how rarely a decision is a win-win in politics.

Example: You may get a road widening, but you'll give up trees and peace and quiet.

Hambrick chats a bit about some of the issues in the national spotlight (Tea Partiers and Fair Taxers) before addressing the pros and cons of some local issues like the incorporation of James Island, the Angel Oak preservation, and so on.

It's a great reminder that while most would have you that rarely is one choice clearly the best.
