Pre-Bridge Run traffic proves to be a political bust, again

The Post and Courier wrote this on Friday morningĀ in regards to the traditional gird lock that comes with traffic to the downtown Cooper River Bridge Run expo at theĀ Gaillard Municipal Auditorium:

Gridlock again would be a blow to the race and to city merchants and restaurant owners who enjoy serving and selling to runners. Today will be the test to see if the city of Charleston can do its part to make the event one that residents and runners can embrace enthusiastically in the years to come.

Seems the City of Charleston failed that standard miserably -- here's a post about yesterday's traffic woes.

As that P&C editorial points out, the question is: Will Charleston Mayor Joe Riley again be able to keep the expo from moving to North Charleston?
