Sanford driver evades speeding ticket (updated)

Update October 10:

It's turn-of-the-wheel, but it's worth pointing out that the driver has been given a ticket after all.

First reporting:

Governor Mark Sanford's protective detail driver got out of a speeding ticket in Columbia yesterday after the Highway Patrol trooper shook hands with the "Love Gov."

The car was pulled over for going over 85 MPH on a stretch of highway that is a 65 MPH zone. Probably not the best move considering Sanford is currently the focus of a serious ethics investigation.

The State has the story and dashboard video of the whole incident.
