Charleston Fashion Week Night Five : The After Parties

As if there would be any doubt, Charleston Fashion Week 2010 ended in true form and perfect style. The tent was transformed, neat rows of chairs replaced with sexy lounge areas where guests mingled and nibbled bites from Cru Catering and top-shelf cocktails before the night’s runway shows.

After design challenge presentations by Barbara Beach, Jamie Lynn Snider and Larika Page as well a full collection by 2009 Emerging Designer winner Marysia Reeves the party stomped into full force as guests celebrated the end of fashion week in style and we couldn’t help but love the violin version of “Blame it on the Alcohol” by hip-hop violinist Daniel D.

We caught up with Karen Segal, who never misses a good party, before congratulating children’s clothing designer Barbara Beach on winning the People’s Choice Award earlier in the evening. Our conversation was cut short though after noticing the impromptu dance party on the runway as models and guests alike let loose to the expertly picked beats by DJ Arthur Brothers.

Heading to Oak Steakhouse for after party number two, the upscale restaurant was packed with party goers dancing to a 90s inspired playlist by the DJ as Chef Brett McKee bounced from table to table chatting with guests.

Ending the night at Social, the energy and fashion buzz was still high among the crowd. The Charleston Fashion Week VIP crowd including Ayoka Lucas, Dalia Dalili and several others dined upstairs as the crowd socialized (pun vaguely intended) downstairs. In attendance were DJ CMNDR aka Matthew Bowers as well as model Katie Kern.

At the end of a long week, we’re a bit sad to see Charleston Fashion Week go (you mean we have to go back to our real jobs?) and already planning for next year. Catch you on the flip side!
