Out of the Box Marketing Encourages Patrons to Take a Seat

In the entertainment industry, it is conventional wisdom that a success one year is followed by a sequel.   The multi-arts production of Fascinations! from local nonprofit arts organizations, Youth Orchestras of the Lowcountry and the Robert Ivey Ballet is no exception to this rule.  Last year, this out of the box approach to fine art performance was met with critical acclaim, and well as audience approval.  So, it was no surprise when the two long-time local arts favorites teamed up again for a second year.

Fascinations! 2013 is the same concept this, but with some artistic tweaking.  Expect the same experience of three art forms melding together on stage that made it so popular last year.  This year YOLOW's musicians will join the Dancers onstage to perform with the presentation of Visual Art presented by talented local artists, such as Haley Hobeika, Jeannette Louise, Susan McKellar, Kelly Theil, Phillip Hyman and Sam Ogden.   Original choreography and original artwork are different as well with a more varied expression of styles.

YOLOW's board president, Kate Mahoney, expects a marketing push to  encourage people to come out to such an event should be creative as well.  Friday night's premiere will offer an unprecedented offer of "Pay What You Can" tickets.  Tickets, valued at $20, are available to the public at a price they determine. These tickets are limited in number, and when they're gone, they're gone.

"It's exciting to see people really responding to the Pay What You Can tickets." "We are sensitive to people's economic situation this time of year.  We wanted to something creative to encourage people to get out of the house and enjoy themselves, while not breaking the bank.  Anyone who wants to come, should be able to join us."

Mahoney adds  "Saturday night's performance, which includes a dessert reception to meet the artists, also has a price tier that starts at just $14.  Students, starving artists, or tourist can all afford fun at these prices."

You can see Fascinations! 2013 at the Sottile Theatre Downtown Charleston, Friday January 18th at 8pm and Saturday, January 19th at 8pm.

Ticket sales benefit the Youth Orchestra of the Lowcountry and the Robert Ivey Ballet. Both local arts organizations are registered 501c3 nonprofits.  Tickets are available through Brown Paper Tickets.

The art shown is available for purchase which support the local artists.
