Police nab four men and four guns in downtown incident

Charleston Police arrested four men and confiscated four guns yesterday on Nassau Street.

Problems arose when six men were acting suspicious inside the In and Out Community Store at 759 Rutledge Avenue. The store clerk, as well as security camera, identified that at least two of the men had handguns hidden in their waistbands.

The clerk called the police to warn about the shady characters, and just over two hours later the group was spotted on North Nassau and Romney Streets. The suspects scattered, but left behind one gun inside a black backpack beneath a van, a silver handgun in the weeds and two loaded guns inside the apartment through which some of the suspects escaped.
