Seventh Annual Festival of Wreaths

A Mix of Charleston’s Top Creatives Bring Talents to the Seventh Annual Festival of Wreaths

The Shops at Charleston Place Invite the Community to Get in the Spirit of the Season with the Party that Brings Together Great Design and Innovative Medicine

On Thursday, December 13, 2012, Charlestonians will gather for the Seventh Annual Festival of Wreaths, in celebration of the innovative work of notable Charleston designers and doctors—all inspired by their shared commitment to children’s care and wellness. As in years past, this much-anticipated holiday event is hosted by The Shops at Charleston Place and will benefit MUSC Children’s Hospital. Guests are invited to partake in a festive menu of champagne, delectables and live music at the Palmetto Cafe from 6:00 to 9:00 in the evening. As they eat, drink, and make merry, party-goers will have the opportunity to bid on their favorite wreaths. Highest bidders receive the double gift of going home with an original work of art to set the tone for their holiday decorating style as well as contributing to one of the worthiest causes in town. Festival of Wreaths tickets are $15 in advance/$20 at the door and can be purchased at charlestonplace.com/FOW or by calling the Orient-Express Boutique in Charleston Place Hotel at 843.937.9142. Validated parking will be available for event guests.

The 2012 wreaths will compete for various prizes, awarded by a panel of guest judges minutes before the auction closes. Categories may include past favorites such as “Most Holiday Cheer,” “Most Inspired,” “Best in Show” and “All the Glitz and Glamour.” Friends can cast a vote for their favorite wreath on the Charleston Place Facebook page beginning Tuesday, November 20. The wreath with the most Facebook votes will receive the “People’s Choice” award.

Before being auctioned at the party, the festival wreaths will be on display for sneak peaks and advance bidding throughout The Shops at Charleston Place beginning on Black Friday. The shops will be open for extended holiday hours.

Party organizers hope to top last year’s record-breaking donations of $4,637. Since the festival’s inaugural year in 2006, a total of $18,043 has been raised for MUSC Children’s Hospital. All proceeds from the event go directly to MUSC Children’s Hospital.
