Lowcountry luxury jewelry designers, Janie Manning and Angie C. Buxton were recently featured in Southern Lady Magazine (Jan - Feb 2013 Issue, on news stands now). This unique design team creates jewelry collections that reflect the historical art form of sweet grass basketry. The original creations were once used as rice winnowing baskets during America's Colonial days up to the end of the Civil War. Sweet Charleston Designs seeks to honor the art form as well as provide educational awareness about the history of winnowing baskets and preserve the beauty of the coiled woven pattern.
