The Family Circle Cup is now accepting applications for 200 adult and junior Ball Crew members, and the 2011 tournament is in special need of adult Ball Crew members.

Detailed Ball Crew information and applications are available now both online, or at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Daniel Island. Marking the tournament’s 39th consecutive year, the Family Circle Cup is scheduled April 2-10, 2011 at the Family Circle Tennis Center in the Best Tennis Town in America, Charleston, SC.

“The Family Circle Cup Ball Crew plays an essential role in the execution of this world class event,” said Eleanor Adams, Family Circle Cup Tournament Manager. “We have a significant need for adult ball crew members this year because the tournament does not coincide with a school break, so we hope to receive a lot of applications from adults, even if they don’t have any experience in tennis.”

An informational meeting will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the Family Circle Tennis Center located at 161 Seven Farms Drive, Daniel Island. Weekly Ball Crew training sessions will be held at the Tennis Center from 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm every Saturday from January 22 - March 26. A final, mandatory training session will be held on Friday, April 1. All participants are needed at the Family Circle Cup (Saturday, April 2 - Thursday, April 7). An All-Star Team will be selected based on ability, performance and attitude for the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals, April 8 - April 10, 2011. To receive an application, or for more info, visit FamilyCircleCup.com or contact Dan Tumbleston at (843) 367-0279.

The Family Circle Cup recruits over 200 adults and juniors, ages 11 & up, for the Ball Crew. This important volunteer area offers access to matches, players, and promises to create memories to last a lifetime.
