Battery drops match 2-1 to RailHawksÂ
Charleston, SC. The Charleston Battery dropped a hard fought pre-season match 2-1 Saturday afternoon at Blackbaud Stadium to the Carolina RailHawks. The Battery controlled much of the first half and the teams went into half-time even at 0-0.
The RailHawks got on the board first about 15 minutes into the second half. The Battery continued to battle and a Battery trialist found the back of the net to make it 1-1 midway through the second half. Late in the second half the RailHawks once again put the ball past the Battery keeper to make it 2-1.
The Battery continues its pre-season schedule this Wednesday as they face Clemson University at 5pm in Clemson, SC. They will then visit College of Charleston next Saturday, April 10th in their final tune up before the 2010 regular season kicks off on April 17th.
