Battery lose to Seattle Sounders
The Battery lost at the Starfire Soccer Stadium to the Seattle Sounders 1-0 on Saturday night. Charleston's team will face the Sounders again on Aug. 12 in the US Open Cup semifinals in Charleston.
Before a crowd of 3,174, Seattle Sounders (6-6-8, 26 points) scored the winning and only goal in the 58th minute when Sebastian LeToux hammered a volley into the top-right corner of the goal.
The Charleston Battery (9-5-4, 31 points) remain in the first position with a one-point lead over the Puerto Rico Islanders. Past game results are available on the Battery Web site.
The Battery's next game is Friday (August 1) at the Atlanta Silverbacks.
