Update March 24: The Cougars' 2011 season came to a close last night with an unfortunate loss to Wichita State in the NIT quarterfinals.

The Cougars had a solid second-half rally, but the shots started falling a bit too late and the Whichita State Shockers advanced to the NIT semifinals with a 82-75 win.

For post-game notes, the College of Charleston's Athletics page has you covered.

Update March 23: Tipoff between the Cougars and Shockers is set for 7 p.m. this evening and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN2.

For a pre-game breakdown on both teams, visit the College's Athletics page.

First reporting: The College of Charleston men's basketball team knocked out Cleveland State on Saturday afternoon and make their way to Kansas on Wednesday to face fourth-seeded Wichita State for the quarterfinals of the NIT.

Interestingly enough, Wichita State's head coach, Gregg Marshall, is a former College of Charleston assistant coach under John Kresse from 1988-96.

The game time and television information will be released after Monday night's second-round NIT games by the NIT and ESPN.

For more on the upcoming game, make your way to either the College's athletics page or the write-up in The Post and Courier.
