Cougars down defending NIT champs 94-84

The College of Charleston Cougars knocked out the defending champions, Dayton, 94-84 in the first round of the NIT last night in front of a near sell-out crowd.

The biggest contributor to the win was Andrew Goudelock, who posted a a career-high 39 points, including eight three-pointers. Donavan Monroe added 23 points to the board and the team as a whole shot 30 for 38 from the foul line.

The sixth-seeded Cougars will take on No. 2 seed Cleveland State in the next round.
