Myrtle Beach locals travel to New Orleans to watch Ohio State lose yet another National Championship, that time to LSU.
Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel resigns amid controversy.
TheDigitel is a hyper-local site, however with so many Northern transplants -and a great deal of those being from Ohio- here in Myrtle Beach we thought this a fitting story to run on TheDigitel. Being a Buckeye myself, I can't say I was personally surprised by the announcement. But, honestly didn't think it would come until the end of the upcoming season.
Tressel, who guided Ohio State to its first national title in 34 years, resigned Monday amid NCAA violations from a tattoo-parlor scandal that sullied the image of one of the country's top football programs.
He said the ongoing investigations and drumbeat of almost daily, sordid revelations were a "distraction" to the university and that he was stepping down "for the greater good of our school."
Head on over to WMBF News to read the Associated Press' write-up of Tressel's resignation. Also hop on over to AOL's Sporting News to read up on the interim head coach, Luke Fickell.
And because everyones gotta hate on the Buckeyes, go on and leave a comment below just for me.
