Citing a bad economy, The Boathouse on East Bay, Cisco's Cafe, Carey Hilliard's, Ray's BBQ, and many other Charleston restaurants have called it quits.

The Post and Courier has a good story rounding up the situation, go check it out.

If you've been a savvy reader, you'll know that the owners of The Boathouse had bought Mimi's Creekside and plan to open a new restaurant, those plans are still on for a February 17th opening.

I'm more than a little bummed out that The Boathouse is gone. I live just blocks from it and had just discovered they had an awesome happy hour, particularly the half-price sushi on Tuesdays. Oh well, gone to history.
