Charleston could host U.S. Open Cup Final

If the Charleston Battery win their semifinals game against the Seattle Sounders on Tuesday (August 12), Charleston could get the honor of hosting the Open Cup Final.

For it to happen both Charleston and the New England Revolution would need to win their games. If that happens, the two teams would face off at Charleston's Blackbaud Stadium at 7 p.m. September 22. The Revolution won the tournament last year.

If Charleston wins but New England doesn't, Charleston would play in Washington on September 3. Both semifinals games will be held Tuesday.

And, it's not too late to buy tickets for Tuesday's semifinals, they start at $10.

A lot of attention of late for Blackbaud Stadium, which just hosted the Michelin Challenge Rugby.

And it's certainly news of note to the Daniel Island retailers having hard times.
