2008 has proved to be a good year for endangered sea turtles, some 4,500 loggerhead turtle nests were found and even a Kemp's Ridley nest -- only once before in 1992 had that endangered turtle been seen nesting in South Carolina.
Turtle nesting counts can vary greatly year-to-year, but still it's a good sign.
Read more about it at The Post and Courier and at the S.C. Department of Natural Resources.
