Eat, drink, and be a judge in Charleston's first shrimp and grits cook off!

Vote for CHS's best shrimp and grits!

Looking for something to do in Charleston Labor Day Weekend? Come to Shrimp and Grits Charleston, the #1 shrimp and grits cookoff where you can eat, drink, and be a judge! This is a grassroots, local event highlighting the BEST of Downtown Charleston.

This event is dedicated to showcasing elite local chefs' takes on a Lowcountry classic: Shrimp and Grits. Fifteen chefs will compete to support a good cause (a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Charleston Animal Society) and bragging rights, while locals can enjoy food, drinks, and music, and tourists can catch a glimpse of what Charleston is REALLY all about! Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door, $12 for children 12 and under...and did we mention there will be plenty of shrimp and grits to go around?

This is one of the best values for $30—ticket price includes shrimp and grits, alcohol, live music, book signings, and more! Parking is cheap and easy at the downtown Charleston Visitor’s Center, and after all this fun, it’s an easy stroll to the Upper King Street Saturday night scene with a happy belly.
