CCU alumna Campbell takes silver in hammer, current Chant Gelibert advances at Pan Am Games

Coastal Carolina alumna Amber Campell of the United States continued her strong season Tuesday, earning a runner-up finish in the hammer throw during the track and field portion of the Pan American Games in Toronto.

The five-time All-American’s toss of 233 feet, 8 inches was just short of winner Rosa Rodriguez of Venezuela (234-11).

“It was a good finish for her as she gets ready for the World Championships,” Coastal Carolina track and field coach Jeff Jacobs said.
