Horry County police have pair of suspects in overnight armed robberies in custody

Horry County police officers have a pair of suspects in custody in connection with a pair of armed robberies early Thursday morning.

Officers were first alerted of a robbery at the Kangaroo convenience store at 62nd Ave. North in Myrtle Beach shortly after midnight by a pair of black males. Several hours later, officers learned a similar robbery had taken place at a store on Highway 501 in Conway.

While responding to assist at the Conway robbery, Horry County officers passed a taxi in which they saw occupants that matched the description of the suspects. When officers stopped the vehicle, they allegedly found the handgun used and the merchandise taken in the robberies in the taxi.

The victim of the Conway robbery also identified the two suspects, whose names will not be released until charges are officially filed, according to the report.
