Man charged in connection with sexual assault report near CCU

A man charged with criminal sexual conduct for an incident that happened near the Coastal Carolina University campus was released on $5,000 bail from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Feb. 4.

Christopher Michael Gordon, 25, was charged with third degree criminal sexual conduct and was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Feb. 2 after a sexual assault occurred on Jan. 30 at the Monarch apartment complex on U.S. 544, according to authorities.

A victim reported the assault to CCU campus police and provided officers with Gordon’s name when filing the report, police said.
