Myrtle Beach EDC snares new employer with 30 jobs at average pay of $20 per hour

A new company that will employ 30 people at an average wage of $20 an hour is locating to Horry County.

Fred Richardson, board chairman of the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corp., told Horry County Council members Friday that the company produces fire and safety software for building protection.

He did not name the company, and said that the final deal with it has not yet been signed.

Richardson said that Sandy Davis, the EDC’s director of operations and projects, found and recruited the company to move here.
