Myrtle Beach man charged after child pornography reportedly found on digital files

A 25-year-old Myrtle Beach man was arrested after more than 200 sexually explicit images of children were allegedly found on digital files on a USB device, according to an Horry County police report.

Daniel James Crutchfield was charged with second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor on July 1 and is currently being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center, according to jail records.

Horry County police said that about 8 a.m. July 1, police officers and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement searched Crutchfield’s home. 

A warrant for the search was issued, stemming from a federal investigation, police said.
