Myrtle Beach police said two people chased down alleged purse snatchers in car, asked them to give purse back

Two people helped chase down purse snatchers and asked the them give it back to the victim, which they did, according to a police report.

Police were called about 7 p.m. Wednesday to the 2300 block of North Ocean Boulevard where a 68-year-old woman and a 67-year-old reported the incident, along with a 47-year-old man who assisted them, authorities said.

The victims told police they were walking back from the beach through the parking garage under their hotel when they heard quick footsteps behind them. The victim’s said two men came up and one snatched the 67-year-old victim’s person, and the other man tried to grab the 68-year-old victim’s purse, but she held on to it and fell to the ground while trying to keep it from the alleged snatcher, according to the report.
