Construction has begun on a new free-standing AT&T Wireless store by Coastal Grand mall.

The Myrtle Beach Community Appearance Board approved a request parking lot and building lighting at its Dec. 4 meeting. A construction permit for the new building was issued on Jan. 9, CAB secretary Heidi Soos said.

The 5,015-square-foot AT&T Wireless retail store will be located at 1835 Pine Island Road, next to PetSmart.
