Fighter jet training set for today in the Myrtle Beach, Florence areas

If you notice some fighter jets flying overhead today, don’t be alarmed because the S.C. Air National Guard is conducting an air defense exercise in the areas of Florence and Myrtle Beach, according to a news release.

As part of the routine exercise, fighter jets assigned to the guard’s 169th Fighter Wing might be seen escorting a single-engine aircraft belonging to the S.C. Civil Air Patrol between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, officials said.
