Second convenience store robbery reported this week in Georgetown County

For the second time this week, Georgetown County Sheriff’s deputies are asking for help in regarding an armed robbery at a Kangaroo convenience store, officials said.

Deputies learned at 12:02 a.m. Thursday a man went into the Kangaroo Express at 10459 Ocean Highway in Pawleys Island, pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money, said Carrie Cuthbertson, Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.

The robber received about $40 cash and then ran from the store, Cuthbertson said. No one was hurt during the robbery in which the man wore a hooded sweatshirt, gloves and a piece of clothing covering his face.
