press release

Audiences Declare the World Premiere of Child’s Play at Atlantic Stage a “Winner”

Atlantic Stage has a hit with the world premiere of Child’s Play by Kevin D. Ferguson and there are only 4 shows left.  What’s best is what audiences have had to say such as,  “(Atlantic Stage’s) production of Child’s Play was probably the best play I have seen in years!”   “The topic was great, and the performers were excellent. Everyone deserves a great big THANK YOU!”

Child’s Play focuses on Vera, a burnt out child therapist who is ready to quit, but is asked to take on a new case by a colleague, the case of ten year old Cindy.  No longer speaking to anyone, Vera has to dig below the fear and anger, to find out the cause of her silence.   In doing so, she may learn not only what happened to Cindy, but also about herself.  Vera is played by Jen Plants, actor’s equity, and she brings a wonderful understanding and storytelling to the role that received specific notice from the audience, “She (Ms.Plants) totally engaged the audience.”

Child’s play is directed by Thom Penn, artistic director at Atlantic Stage.  It was written by local playwright Kevin D. Ferguson.

Child’s Play continues Thursday, May 9 –Saturday, May 10 at 7:30 pm with the final performance on Sunday, May 12 at 3:00 pm.  For more information and tickets go towww.atlanticstage.com or call the box office at 877-287-8587
